Send "I'd die for you." for my character's reaction.
The actor pauses. It’s all he can seem to do, once those words came from the doctor’s mouth, and if he had been one to show emotion, his mouth would twist into a displeased frown. Die for him. What does that mean? Why would anyone want to die for him? Kishitani-san of all people, no less. Kind as the man is, they have never been that close, and they aren’t now. What makes Kasuka worth dying for, compared to a man who saves lives (even if it is underground work)?
An actor who only does his work just to feel like he’s not an emotionless husk isn’t worth it. Not compared to anyone else, least of all someone he has found himself enjoying spending time with.
“…” He doesn’t speak for a few moments after the words were spoken, just stares blankly at the man in the lab coat, as though it would help him read his mind and figure out why. Nothing happens and the words are hanging in the air and if it becomes awkward, Kasuka doesn’t notice. Instead he just keeps on frowning, and there’s actually a miniscule downturn of his lips. It’s slight and one would have to have extremely good eyesight to see it, but it’s still there.
He blinks slowly, only once, finally looking away and instead turning his gaze to the floor.
“Please— don’t.”
